Just Like Gram’s was created in September 2004 just after the birth of my daughter Elizabeth. Combining my desire to stay at home and raise my children with my love of baking, I decided to create a home baking business for those who desire baking “just like Gram’s”.
I learned to bake at the early age of 12 under the careful guidance of my grandmother. My grandmother was a pastry chef in the Canadian navy during World War II and then worked at a bakery for 25 years. All my recipes come from my grandmother’s huge collection that she has accumulated over the years. My skill and knowledge increased with experience in catering with the Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club in Surrey, BC and as a Foods and Nutrition teacher in Prespatou, BC.
In 2006, I decided to add cake decorating to my repertoire. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, I attended Wilton cake decorating classes. Currently, I am a member of the Canadian Society of Sugar Artistry. With the support of my family, I continue to increase my knowledge and expertise by attending additional classes and through self-teaching.
At Just Like Gram’s, we are committed to provide home baking, “just like Gram’s”.
